LIGHT ART SCRAP HACK 20.10.2026
Goal:
- New life for production waste, new light for your ideas!
- A 4-hour intensive creative lab bringing together 6 light artists, a pile of
unique light installation production scraps, and the bold imagination of participants.
- The space features 6 specialized hacking stations. Participants will rotate
between tables, gather tips from mentors, combine materials, and build their own light object, which will be exhibited as part of TAVA26 at the Tartu University Botanical Garden.

SCHEDULE
WORKSHOP SCHEDULE AND PARTICIPATION
The workshop takes place on 20.10.2026 from 16:00 to 20:00.
━ START: Welcome, safety briefing, and a quick introduction of stations/artists / 15 min.
━ HACK I SPRINT (Experimentation): Participants choose their initial stations. Material sorting, experimentation, flashes of ideas, and first technical solutions / 75 min.
━ COOL-DOWN (Light Break): Coffee/tea. Participants move around and peek at what "hackers" at neighboring tables came up with / 20 min.
━ HACK II SPRINT (Finalizing): Locking down structures, refining details, and making objects functional before the deadline / 85 min.
━ IGNITION (Pop-up exhibition): Lights off! All completed works are powered on simultaneously. Short presentations by the authors in the dark / 30 min.
━ FINISH (Recognition): Highlighting the best hacks, team acknowledgements, and official closing of the event / 15 min.
