HOW TO GET THERE?
Tartu Valgus (Tartu Light) takes place in the city of Tartu, which is easily accessible by train, bus, car, and airplane. No matter where you start, Tartu is a compact city, and the event areas are conveniently accessible from the city center.
BY AIRPLANE
Tartu Airport – 11 km from the city center
It takes about 15–20 minutes to reach the city center from Tartu Airport by car.
The direct flight between Tartu and Helsinki allows for convenient international travel to Tartu. Finnair operates flights between Helsinki and Tartu.
If a direct flight does not suit you, alternatives include Tallinn or Riga Airport, from which you can continue to Tartu by bus or train.

BY BUS
Tartu Bus Station is located right in the city center.
There are multiple daily buses to Tartu from Tallinn and other Estonian cities. There are also international connections, for example, toward Riga.
Many Tartu Valgus event locations are within walking distance from the bus station.

BY TRAIN
Tartu Railway Station is located about 1.5 km from the city center.
Trains run from Tallinn to Tartu several times a day, and train connections are also available toward Valga and Koidula.
The train is an especially convenient choice if you want to leave your car at home and continue moving around Tartu on foot or by public transport.

ON SITE IN TARTU
Tartu Valguse puhul ei pea tingimata autoga ühe sündmuskoha juurest teise liikuma. For Tartu Valgus, you do not necessarily need to travel by car from one event location to another. Tartu's city center is compact, and many light installations, exhibitions, and events are located within walking distance of each other. Whenever possible, we recommend coming on foot, by bike, or by public transport—this leaves more time to enjoy the light and the city itself.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT

BY BICYCLE
Tartu is also very easily navigable by bicycle. There are several bicycle parking areas in the city center and near the event locations.
