"ATLAS TREE"
TEEMU MÄÄTTÄNEN (FIN)
Projection, custom-built software, computer, tree. 2019.
In Atlas Tree, slowly shifting animations move across the surface of a tree. The changing patterns intertwine with the texture of the tree, forming an intricate web reminiscent of traffic reports, migration patterns, and weather maps. As the animations unfold, the tree becomes part of these shifting maps, at times creating the illusion that it is the tree itself that is moving rather than the images projected onto it.
