INSIDE EXHIBITION

A collaborative exhibition by the Pallas University of Applied Sciences and the Estonian Sculptors' Union brings together third-year students from the Pallas sculpture department and recognized professional sculptors. The project focuses on the intergenerational exchange of experience and the transmission of professional skills.

This format has become a valued tradition. At the 2023 exhibition held at the Rapla Contemporary Art Center, students created a dialogue with the works of selected sculptors. In 2024, the project continued within the framework of the TAVA24 light biennale at the Pallas Gallery, where artists and students working as tandems created joint works. Both previous exhibitions received high praise from both participants and the public.

The title "Inherited Light" symbolizes the creative energy and spiritual heritage passed down between generations. Professional know-how, material sensitivity, and creative passion—interpreted as light—require conscious preservation and transmission.

The exhibition takes place as part of the side program of the Tartu Light Biennale. The exposition will be located in the temporary greenhouses in the outdoor area of the University of Tartu Botanical Garden, which are illuminated in such a way that the works can be viewed during the evening hours as well.
